Who We Are:

Collaboration of Women in Development (CWID) is a grassroots women led non-profit making organization based in Mombasa County. It was established in 2005 and got registered in 2010 by the NGO Coordination Board of Kenya. Between 2005 and 2019, the Organization operated as Coast Women In Development (CWID) until August 2019 when the Board of Directors made a strategic decision to change the name. The change of name was done to allow CWID operate beyond the borders of coastal counties of Kenya.
The organization is committed to creating a society that improves the lives of the vulnerable women, children, youths, and persons with disability, minorities and the vulnerable groups in the community. Over the years.
CWID is the 2020 NGO Global Leadership and Excellence Awards Winner including being nominated and crowned under the African NGO Leadership Awards (2019, 2018, 2017, and 2016) with additional award for the Women Super Achievers.
The organization has directly supported vulnerable women, girls and male youth through gender-responsive economic postponement; decision making in political process; peace and security; sexual reproduction and health rights; and education
